Consumer behavior
Aim of The Module In this module I will aim to approach � The psychology of how consumers think, feel, reason, and select between different alternatives (e.g., brands, products); � the psychology of how the consumer is influenced by his or her environment (e.g., culture, family, signs, media); � the behavior of consumers while shopping or making other marketing decisions; � Limitations in consumer knowledge or information processing abilities influence decisions and marketing outcome; � How consumer motivation and decision strategies differ between products that differ in their level of importance or interest that they entail for the consumer; and � How marketers can adapt and improve their marketing campaigns and marketing strategies to more effectively reach the consumer. Understanding these issues helps us develop our strategies by taking the consumer into consideration. For example, by understanding that a number of different messages compete for potential customers� attention, we learn the fact that in order to be effective, ads must usually be repeated extensively. We also learn that consumers will sometimes be persuaded more by logical arguments, but at other times they will be persuaded more by emotional/symbolic appeals.

Marketing Communication
Marketing and communication: extensions of marketing communication, communication process, elements, objectives; promotion mix: advertising, Public Relations and publicity, personal selling, promotion: adapted marketing communication tools: sponsorship, purpose related marketing, hybrid messages, direct marketing, other types of marketing communication: product, brand, packaging, place and price; managing and strategies of marketing communication; planning: objectives, budget, marketing, communication ethics and its social dimension.

Flink pakketje he? ;D Dit is het voorstel dat ik naar de betreffende university heb gestuurd. Hoop dat ik dit allemaal wel ga redden in een half jaar, zitten een boel leuke vakken bij! Heb er zin in! ;D

5 maanden studeren in Eskisehir, Turkije

Als eerste zit ik een klein beetje te twijfelen. Mijn eerste intentie was om de studie Cinema & Television te volgen. Maarrr, de richting Communication trekt me ook heel erg. Gelijk een mailtje gestuurd in hoeverre hier op internet communicatie wordt ingegaan. Ik ben benieuwd :)

De tijd in Turkije gaat zeker tof en leerzaam worden. Een paar feitjes over de campus:

Eight percent of its urban population of nearly 600,000 is made up of university students. In other words, Eskişehir is a student city, full of youth. The cafes that are situated on both sides of the river make Eskişehir seem as a resort town.

Eskişehir is 5 hours from Istanbul, 3 hours from Ankara, 6 hours from Antalya and Izmir by road. It is at the same time a major hub of the Turkish railway network, and can be reached from any part of the country by train.

Although Eskişehir has a big student population, housing does not constitute a problem. Kredi &Yurtlar Institution (State) dormitories alone house a total of 6,500 students. In addition, there are many private dormitories. Students who prefer to rent apartments (furnished or unfurnished) find great support from the residents of Eskişehir. The Counseling Center of Anadolu University helps students overcome housing problems.

Anadolu University has canteens for students in all the faculties and schools. The student cafeteria in the Yunusemre Campus serves nutritious lunches to approximately 7,000 students daily. In addition to this, there are cafeterias at the Bilecik and Bozüyük Vocational Schools and the Civil Aviation School. There are also other restaurants on the campus as well as in the city.

Ik heb er echt zin in!

Erwin stuurde me het mailtje door van Sylvia Peekstok, een CMD docent die de contacten onderhoud met buitenlandse scholen. In het mailtje werd gemeld dat er de mogelijkheid is om 5 maanden in aan de Anadolu University in Eskisehir te studeren. De studierichting is Cinema & Television. Ik heb al grote verhalen gehoord over enorme studio’s en ongekende video mogelijkheden, ik ben zeeer benieuwd :)

Samen met Jan Bert en Erwin dus van september ’07 tot en met januari ’08 studeren in Turkije.
Mis hierdoor jammer genoeg veel leuke dingen in Nederland… Maar dat is het vast allemaal waard :)
